It’s one of those films that feels simple on the surface yet leaves you thinking long after you’ve watched it. At its heart are these two immigrant grandmothers, separated by language but brought together through shared moments in a garden and in everyday life — and somehow that quiet connection says so much about loneliness and belonging.

What I love is how the filmmaker, Mina Patel, pulls on her own experiences and deep passion for community to show that connection doesn’t need grand gestures — it can grow from empathy, patience, and caring for each other. The film doesn’t just highlight isolation; it invites us into a conversation about how kindness and curiosity can knit people together across cultures and generations.
